Jack & Jill provide in-home nursing care and respite support for children up to the age of five, with a range of neurodevelopmental issues including brain injury, genetic diagnosis and severe cerebral palsy.
On a personal note, the Jack and Jill Foundation offer huge support to my sister, Clare and her husband Pierre with their beautiful son Jace. Read more about Jace here

There are some amazing prizes; prizes for best individual entries as well as a school prize for the school with the most entries.
A selection of entries will be hung and displayed on a ‘first come first up’ basis in the Louise Cherry Gallery, in Wicklow Town during lockdown and for a while after.
Local children will be able to view if passing and hopefully, after lockdown, an open exhibition will enable anyone to visit.
Competition open to children nationwide.
There will be no entry fee. Donations are welcome, link above, 100% of money donated will go to the Jack and Jill Foundation.
Donations are at your own discretion, however consider that €16 provides a family with 1 hour of nurse time to help care for their child.

“Even as an artist I find a blank canvas daunting, so I want to give the kids a framework that they can feel comfortable and confident working on. This is why I have chosen two specific projects that I know, from experience teaching art to children, that they will all love. “All” is the important aspect here, as I want every child to feel they can enter the competition, not just the children who love art and feel confident in art. What I really strive to teach children is that everyone can draw if they are taught how and they take the time to practice, it’s just like learning to write. This project is about connecting people during lockdown, not necessarily about producing the best art, so I want to encourage as many kids as possible to participate“ Good luck and remember the most important thing is to smile while you draw. Louise
Please choose to do either Project 1 or Project 2, either is fine and valid, and both will be considered for the prizes. Project 1 can be done on A5 sheet of paper so is easier to post, Project 2 needs to be on larger paper, either A4 or A3 best, NO BIGGER PLEASE
IMPORTANT : Consider delivery options before choosing your project/card/paper size, see rules.
